He has written contributions to local newspapers such as Al-Lusail Economic, Al-Sharq, and Al-Watan Qatari newspapers, and has contributed articles and opinions on various economic topics.

Eng. Jassim M. Al-Shirawi is a seasoned engineering and project executive with over 20 years of leadership experience across the energy, marine, and infrastructure sectors. He has held roles on supervisory committees, boards of directors, and within semi-governmental entities, contributing to major national projects including the Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard Project, and Hamad Port Project in Qatar where he served as Project Executive Director.

His expertise spans project development, marine infrastructure, investment evaluation, and portfolio management. He has also held board-level roles in Nakilat’s Company joint ventures with global maritime leaders Damen Shipyards Group (Netherlands) and Keppel Offshore & Marine (Singapore). Since 2021, he has overseen a diversified investment portfolio and companies covering, various real estate assets, international agricultural investments, transportation and tourism activities, textile trading, and facilities Maintenance and Managment.

Al-Shirawi holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States and a Master’s degree from the United Kingdom. He is the recipient of the ACAS Wales Award for the best MBA thesis in Human Resources Management. In addition to his executive career, he is an active economic commentator and author of “Papers in Maritime Industry.”
